The first thing you'll notice is probably the design change - now the pictures have more space and look better. The second thing is the name. I haven't been in Chile for a while now, and a lot of posts are about other places; so I thought a name change was in order.
So, how to sum up more than a month's travel around South America, not forgetting Christmas in Santiago?
Through pictures of course - with the fantastic use of Instagram (I have been playing with it for 2 hours - I think I am in love <3)

After a gluttonous Christmas and Nick's goodbye party, it was time for...

Of course completely disregarding the fact that Peru also has pisco sour - true Chilean style!
New Year's Eve in Rio de Janeiro can be boiled down to this...

After recovering from a hangover in 35 degrees, Natascha, Julie and I headed off to Montevideo in Uruguay. After a few days, Thibault joined us, replacing Natascha who left early for Buenos Aires.
Uruguay - great company, colonial architecture and some words of wisdom |
A "sibling's" fight over the cheese platter |
And then the inevitable happened... Thibault and Julie wanted to go south in Argentina and I wanted to go north. So we went our separate ways and I was, for the first time, all alone. But as I quickly discovered: You are never alone when traveling alone. I met so many great people - if we only shared a beer or ended up traveling around together for some days.
The first stop was the breathtaking Iguazu waterfalls
True wonder of nature |
You can get a better feeling of the magnitude of the waterfall in this video I made:
Then I headed off to Paraty, Brazil

And so I came full circle ending up in the city where I started: Rio de Janeiro

I had plenty of time being a tourist second time around |
It had now been more than a month since I left Chile and seven months since I left Denmark. With an overly satisfied travel-urge I was ready to head back home. When I literally got a wound on my foot from wearing flip-flops too much, I knew it was time. Looking back on it now, I cannot understand, how I could be looking forward to the cold February weather in Copenhagen; but the truth was, that I did.
Now, what I miss the most is not the heat, but the people.. <3
